Flaraby Actionscript 3 For Flex
What is FlarabyAS3Flex ?
FlarabyAS3Flex is an Adobe Flex and Adobe Air component (SWC) that enables rendering Arabic, Persian or Urdu text together with Latin (eg. English, French, Spanish or Italian) text in SWF files at runtime. FlarabyAS3Flex supports embedFonts, multiline and has limited support for html tags (anchor, font color and underline). FlarabyAS3Flex component (.swc) is less than 13k in size, which is by far lighter than the new TextLayout Components by Adobe.
For a design time solution of Arabic in Flash problem, check FlarabySWF

Flex screen orientation.
Have you done any work on changing the orientation of a screen from left to right to a right to left orientation.

Khalid,
FlarabyAS3Flex can solve this problem.
You can see a demo that uses FlarabyAS3Flex to show Arabic text in Label, Link and Button components here:
http://www.arabicode.com/flarabyas3flex/
and the source code is here:

Thank you

Dear ABDULRAHEEM,
No, this is not for Flash, this is a Flex only component.
If you want a Flash solution but at design time, you can use FlarabySWF instead.
If you still want to use FlarabyAS3Flex you can upgrade using your order number and your email from the 'Buy Now' link above.
Thank you.

Roman,
As far as I know, you can't load AS3 into AS2 swf.
The screenshot is displaying Farsi/Persian text, not Arabic. The example doesn't have Persian support.
Also, if you'd like to enable Persian in FlarabyAS3Flex, you'd need a Persian font that has the same font mappings as "Traditional Arabic" font.
Thank you.

Hello again:)
I was trying to use the sample application with some samle tetx of mine, and I hit following problem:
http://www.hudbicka.cz/r2l/scrshot.jpg
- as you can see, there is a character in first word (charCode 1740) which doesn't make a proper connection with other characters arround it.
I would like to ask, if this is a bug or if that is caused by some lakck of bi-directional text on my computer, or something like that.
Thank you
Roman

Hello Ahmad,
we would like to add bi-directional support to already existing application - multimedia player developed in Flash CS3 (AS 2.0). I wonder if it is possible to build a Flex app as swf with your tool and then load this swf to our Flash application on the fly. This could be the way how to aney the limitation that it is not working under the Flash CS3 directly..... please do not hasitate to contact me directly on my mail.
Thank you

Farid,
Wa Alaykom Alsalam Wa Rahmato Allah Wa Barakatoh
1- This is mostly because the character width calculation is not accurate.
You should use the "extraCharWidth" property to increase the character width till you see the text renders correctly.
More info here:
http://www.arabicode.com/en/flaraby/as3/flex/documentation.php
2- Using FlarabyAS3Flex in rendering input text is not recommended in general. It could be done however storing input characters and rendering the text at each key up event, but some problems can occur if the user tried to edit some text in the middle, as the rendered text hasn't the same length as the original, so care should be taken to solve this problem.
Thank you.

Salam Ahmad,
We've just bought your component and have 2 issues right now:
1/ Text with multiline gets wrapped to the next line on the right side not the left side!
2/Our clients have the possibility to enter text in Arabic in some text fields, what's the best way to render the Arabic text in the text fields during data entry?
Thanks,
